Somatic Integration · Manhattan, NYC
The tension in your body is not stress. It is a biological holding pattern that has a precise address.
For high-achieving professionals in New York and California carrying chronic physical tension that no amount of therapy, medication, or mindfulness has released.

THE EXPERIENCE
This Is What It Feels Like.
Your jaw is always slightly clenched.
Your neck hasn't fully relaxed in years. There is a permanent tightness across your chest — not cardiac, not structural, not explained by any physical examination. You carry it everywhere. Into meetings, into sleep, into the rare moments when nothing is actually wrong.
People have told you it is stress. You have been told to breathe, to meditate, to exercise more, to worry less.
None of it has touched it.
Because it is not stress. It is something much more specific — and much more treatable — than stress.

"The weighted vest is not a metaphor. It is your nervous system, braced against a threat that never fully arrived and never fully left."
WHAT'S ACTUALLY HAPPENING
The Biological Reality
The body keeps a record that the mind often cannot access.
Chronic physical tension — particularly in the cervical segment, the jaw, the neck, and the chest — is one of the most consistent presentations in high-achieving professionals under sustained psychological pressure. It is not imagined. It is not psychosomatic in the dismissive sense. It is the autonomic nervous system maintaining a state of physiological readiness for a threat it has learned to expect.
This is called somatic holding. And it has nothing to do with how much you understand about why you are tense.
Understanding does not release it. Relaxation techniques create temporary relief at best. The holding pattern returns because it was never addressed at the level where it actually lives — in the biological regulation of the nervous system itself.
Standard psychiatric care does not address this.
It addresses the narrative. The thoughts. The beliefs. It leaves the body exactly where it found it.

WHO THIS IS FOR
The Right Patient
This work is specifically designed for high-achieving professionals whose psychological suffering has a clear and persistent physical address.
This is for you if:
→
You carry chronic tension in the jaw, neck, shoulders, or chest that never fully releases
→
You have been told the physical symptoms are stress-related but nothing has changed them
→
You experience the sensation of wearing a weighted vest you cannot remove
→
Standard therapy has helped you understand your patterns but has not changed how your body feels
→
You clench your jaw, hold your breath, or brace physically without realizing it
→
Your body feels perpetually braced — even in moments of safety
This is not for you if:
→
You are looking for relaxation techniques or mindfulness-based stress reduction
→
You want a purely talk-based approach with no somatic component
→
You are in acute physical or psychiatric crisis requiring immediate care
→
You are not ready to work at the level of the body, not just the mind
THE APPROACH
How We Address It.
Somatic integration in this practice is not yoga, breathwork, or body scanning.
It is a precise, evidence-based methodology for uncoupling the mind from the physiological bracing patterns that have become the body's default state.
PHASE 01
HARDWARE
We begin by addressing the biological regulation of the autonomic nervous system directly.
This means targeted somatic interventions for the cervical segment — the jaw, neck, and chest — combined with metabolic pharmacology where indicated. The goal is to create enough physiological safety that the nervous system can begin to release the holding pattern it has maintained, in some cases, for decades.
This is not relaxation. It is biological restoration of the capacity to relax.
PHASE 02
SOFTWARE
Once the body can physically afford to sit still, we address what the holding pattern was protecting.
The somatic holding is not random. It is structured around something — an early relational pattern, a sustained threat, a self that learned that vulnerability was dangerous. Shadow work and deep analytical frameworks are used to understand and dismantle the psychological structure the body has been holding in place.
When the psychological work and the somatic work happen simultaneously, the release is permanent — not temporary.
"You cannot out-think a trauma response that lives in your physical tissue. The work has to meet the body where it actually is."
Metin Cayiroglu, MD
WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT
Not Standard Somatic Therapy.
Most somatic approaches in the mental health space are standalone — separated from psychiatric medicine, from pharmacology, from deep analytical work.
This practice integrates all of it.
Somatic intervention embedded within full psychiatric care — not offered as a separate modality
Targeted pharmacology to support the biological conditions for somatic release
Deep shadow and analytical work to address what the holding pattern was protecting
A physician trained in psychosomatic medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital — where the mind-body connection is a clinical reality, not a wellness concept
Strictly private pay — accountable to you, not an insurance panel

Begin
If your body has been carrying something your mind has already processed
The first step is a two-hour conversation. Not a prescription. A real assessment of what is actually happening — biologically and psychologically.
